Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home having a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
